Collection 2000's Hot Looks Fast Dry Nail Polish in Button Moon

This product is uh-maz-ing. I've had it for more than a year now and it's still going strong. The consistency is the same as when purchased, the colour is exactly the same and there is still loads left - and all this for an un-be-liev-able £1.29 (Superdrug).

I bet you're all dying to know what this amazing beauty bargain is, I'll enlighten you, it's Collection 2000's Hot Looks Fast Dry Nail Polish in number 33 - Button Moon.

It is such a gorgeous, minty-blue, summer colour and at that ridiculously cheap price it wouldn't hurt to try it out. I haven't purchased any other polishes from the collection but who cares!?! This one is great and that's what matters - and it is just another product from Collection 2000 (now Collection) that is amazing and cheap and is a credit to the brand.

The brush head is similar to the new Essie brushes - flat and wide for quick application in one to two strokes. The texture is non-gloopy and very liquidy, which I personally prefer. No complaints my end!

YSL's Touche Eclat vs. L'oreal's Lumi Magique

Ever heard youtubers bloggers raving about the cult highlighter pen, YSL's Touche Éclat (£25 from boots), and wondered whether a dupe even exists? Well I bring good news, L'oreal's Lumi Magique (£8.49 from boots) highlighter pen is a great dupe and it under half the price! Here's a brief comparison of the two:

Touche Eclat:

It's definitely a cult product but has the price tag to show for it. The packaging is dreamy - weighty and golden, very luxe. You dispense product by pressing the end of the pen and apply with the brush head (usually blending with fingers for flawless results). I have shade 1.5 which  is quite yellow-toned and in hindsight I should probably have gone for a more pink-toned shade to counteract under-eye circles. Despite choosing a slightly off colour, I love the Touche Éclat and will definitely re-purchase. The only downside is that when my skin is dry the Touche Éclat clings to all those flakey bits - euw!

Lumi Magique:

An amazing dupe for Touche Éclat and 100% worth the money. The packaging is longer and slimmer than Touche Éclat and is rose gold in colour- gorgeous. You dispense product by twisting the end until it clicks (this is flawed since it is easy to twist the end when just holding and handling the pen and so product gets wasted), product is applied with an identical brush head to the Touche Éclat pen. I have shade 1 - light, which is pinky-toned which is why I use this pen better for colour correcting dark circles. I still find that the formula clings to dry patches which isn't great but overall this is a brilliant product and I will definitely repurchase.

Where to begin, a Hello!

Hi All,

Yes, this is another beauty blog! I am a 20 year old Physics graduate and am obsessed with all things beauty. I'll be posting weekly or bi-weekly on beauty related goodness including reviews, tips & tricks, updates, demos and swatches. I'll get the show on the road by telling you my all time favourite drugstore and high end beauty products (subject to change!).

Drugstore: MaxFactor's False Lash Effect Mascara.
Priced at around £10 in Boots, Superdrug and some supermarkets it is quite steep! But thick, curled, long-lasting, lucious lashes are worth it! Mascaras last a long time so one can justify the price tag - and the packaging is nice too.

High end: MAC's Omega eyeshadow (top left).
I know some people don't class MAC as high end, but I do! With eyeshadows now at £10 a pot, lipsticks at £14 and foundations always £20 plus, and also the great quality of products I think MAC definitely counts as high end and Omega eyeshadow is my absolute favourite item. I am a brow obsessive and like a nice a natural brow and Omega is THE perfect brow powder for medium/dark haired fellows wanting to go au-natural but still polished. As with most MAC shadows it is highly pigmented and quite long-lasting. I could NOT live without it!

More to come soon guys so tune in!
